Community Guidelines
Effective Date: To be published upon launch · Last Updated: To be published upon launch
Beym is built on the principle that spontaneous, genuine human connection should be possible across the world. These Community Guidelines define what is and is not acceptable on Beym. They apply to all users in all contexts: video calls, voice calls, chat messages, profile content, usernames, and any other feature of the Service.
Violation of these Guidelines may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban, up to and including referral to law enforcement.
1. Who Can Use Beym
You must be at least 18 years old to use Beym. If we determine that a user is under 18, their account will be permanently deleted without notice and without refund. You must not create an account if you have previously been permanently banned from Beym.
2. Keep It Safe: Absolute Rules
The following behaviors result in immediate permanent ban and, where required by law, referral to law enforcement. There are no warnings for these violations.
2.1 Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
Any content that sexually exploits or depicts minors — including photographs, videos, illustrations, or text — is strictly prohibited. Any account found to generate, distribute, or possess such content will be permanently banned and reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), relevant law enforcement agencies, and App Store/Play Store platforms.
2.2 Sexual Content Involving Minors
Any sexual communication directed at a person who is or appears to be under 18, including grooming, solicitation, or arrangement of in-person meetings, is prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement.
2.3 Terrorism and Violent Extremism
Promoting, glorifying, recruiting for, or facilitating terrorism, violent extremism, or mass violence in any form is prohibited.
2.4 Threats of Violence
Credible threats to kill or seriously harm any person are prohibited.
3. Content Standards
3.1 Nudity and Sexual Content
Beym is not an adult platform. Nudity and sexual content are strictly prohibited in all contexts, including profile photographs, video calls, chat messages, and usernames. This applies regardless of whether both parties claim to consent.
3.2 Hate Speech
Content that dehumanizes, threatens, or incites discrimination against any person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, caste, or similar characteristics is prohibited. This includes slurs, content promoting the superiority of one group over another, denying historical atrocities, and calling for discrimination against protected groups.
3.3 Graphic Violence and Gore
Content depicting extreme graphic violence, gore, dismemberment, or torture for the purpose of shocking or disturbing others is prohibited.
3.4 Self-Harm and Suicide
Content that promotes, glorifies, instructs, or encourages self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders is prohibited. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact a local emergency service or crisis helpline immediately.
3.5 Dangerous Substances
Promoting, facilitating the sale of, or encouraging the use of illegal drugs, non-prescription controlled substances, or dangerous products is prohibited.
3.6 Weapons
Displaying or discussing illegal weapons — including illegal firearms, explosives, or instructions for modifying weapons — in a context that facilitates harm is prohibited.
4. Behavior Standards
4.1 Harassment and Bullying
You must not direct abusive, threatening, or humiliating behavior at any other user. This includes repeatedly contacting a blocked user, coordinating with others to target a specific user, doxxing, and sending abusive messages after being declined for a match.
4.2 Sexual Harassment
Unwanted sexual comments, propositions, or requests directed at other users are prohibited.
4.3 Discrimination
Refusing to engage with other users, or treating them in a degrading manner, based solely on protected characteristics is prohibited.
4.4 Impersonation
You must not impersonate any real person, public figure, other Beym user, or Beym staff member.
4.5 Spam and Unsolicited Promotion
You must not send unsolicited bulk messages, use Beym to promote external products or services without authorization, or use automated tools to interact with the Service.
4.6 Off-Platform Solicitation
Attempting to move users off the platform — particularly for commercial, sexual, or fraudulent purposes — is prohibited. This includes soliciting or offering sexual services and requesting payment from other users.
4.7 Scams and Fraud
Attempting to deceive other users for financial gain — including romance scams, fake investment schemes, or any other form of fraud — is prohibited and may be referred to law enforcement.
4.8 Sharing Others' Private Information
Sharing screenshots, recordings, or personal information about other users without their explicit consent is prohibited. Recording another user during a call without their knowledge or consent may violate applicable laws and is prohibited.
5. Profile Standards
5.1 Profile Photographs
Profile photographs must clearly show your face, be taken of yourself (not another person or fictional character), and not contain nudity or material that violates these Guidelines.
5.2 Username and Display Name
Your username and display name must not contain sexual language, hate speech, impersonation of other persons or brands, or spam and promotional content.
5.3 Authentic Identity
Your profile must represent a real individual person over the age of 18. Profiles representing fictitious personas or non-human entities are not permitted.
6. Reporting Violations
You can report violations:
- During a video call: Use the in-call report button visible on the call screen
- On a profile: Tap the report option on any user's profile
- On a message: Long-press any message and select "Report"
- Via email: Send a detailed report to safety@beymlive.com
Submitting false or malicious reports is itself a violation of these Guidelines.
7. Automated Content Moderation
We use automated systems to help enforce these Guidelines in real time, including:
- Video frame analysis: Our automated moderation system periodically captures still-image frames during video calls and analyzes them for prohibited content including nudity and weapons. If a violation is detected, the call may be terminated and the account flagged for review.
- Text filtering: Messages are scanned for patterns associated with prohibited content.
- Behavioral signals: Unusual activity patterns may trigger additional review.
Automated systems may occasionally produce false positives. You may appeal any action taken against your account.
8. Enforcement
| Severity | Examples | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Minor | Mild spam, borderline profile content | Content removal; warning |
| Moderate | Harassment, repeated minor violations, nudity in profile | Content removal; temporary suspension (1–30 days) |
| Serious | Hate speech, sexual solicitation, sharing private information | Content removal; long-term or permanent suspension |
| Critical | CSAM, terrorism, violence, credible threats | Immediate permanent ban; referral to law enforcement |
Permanently banned users may not create new accounts. We use available technical signals to identify and remove ban-evasion accounts. We will report to law enforcement when we discover illegal content or credible threats to safety, without prior notice to the account holder.
9. Appeals
If you believe an action taken against your account was made in error, you may submit an appeal by contacting us at appeals@beymlive.com within 30 days of the action.
Include: your account username or registered phone number; a description of the action taken; why you believe the action was made in error; and any supporting information.
Appeals are reviewed by a human moderator. We aim to respond within 14 business days. Our decision on appeal is final.
What cannot be appealed: Permanent bans for CSAM or content involving the sexual exploitation of minors; bans ordered by a court or law enforcement authority.
10. Our Commitment
We commit to applying these Guidelines consistently and without discrimination, reviewing appeals fairly and with human judgment, updating these Guidelines as the platform evolves, protecting the safety of our community especially vulnerable users, and being transparent about how enforcement decisions are made.
11. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Guidelines at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app before the changes take effect.
